Flybe collapses into administration
Tough times for largest regional airline
Flybe is Europe’s largest regional airline and was active at more than 80 airports. The airline was already struggling financially last year. Flybe has collapsed after the government failed to result in a rescue deal. The fear around the coronavirus has caused an extreme decline in demand for airline tickets. This situation in combination with the Brexit reached the limit of Flybe.
The collapsed airline advises passenger to not to travel to the airport: “All flights have been grounded and the UK business has ceased trading with immediate effect.” This does not apply to passengers who have arranged an alternative flight. More than 75 aircraft have been grounded.
Now UK’s airline Flybe has gone into administration, 2000 jobs are at risk. `
Until further notice
EUclaim is closely monitoring the situation. We will update this news item when more clarity is provided from Flybe.
