On September 28^th, many flights from and to the UK were cancelled due to a Ryanair pilot strike. The impact of the strike is also very large in Germany and Belgium. Many passengers received the news of this strike too late, leaving them unsure about the cancellation of their flights.

Passengers will be able to soak up Osaka next summer! After closing the route in October of 1998, British Airways confirmed the reopening of the route from London Heathrow to the second largest city in Japan, Osaka. The airline will start operating this route starting from March 31, 2019.

The airport of Hamburg was closed yesterday after a power-outage in the morning affected operations throughout the day. No flights were allowed to depart or land at Hamburg Airport.

The European Court of Justice has ruled that passengers that booked connecting flights in one booking are entitled to compensation when they miss their connecting flight caused by a delay on the first flight departing the EU. The European Court is backing the passenger in this matter.

Saturday and Sunday will be overshadowed by French ATC strikes again. This time the department of the Marseille airspace will go on strike. The strike will cause flight problems for passengers, especially as the Formula 1 is set to take place in Monaco this weekend.

Air France staff unions have announced four more strike days for April. European passengers will now have to face seven (!) days of strike action this month.

The Unions of both inflight- and ground staff of Air France have announced a strike for Thursday February 22. Unions demand a large pay increase for the entire staff of the French airline.
